Crafts Fair (with

Over 1000 people attended Chabad’s pre-Chanukah crafts fair
at SM Place last Sunday.
From the children making their own dreidels and Menorahs
out of empty bullet shells, to the olive-oil press demonstration, over to the
“Taste a Latke” stand and the booth for donning Tefillin and receiving Chanukah
Menorah and candles, there was something for everyone at this festive event.
With Chassidic music playing in the background, Rabbi Isaac
Levitansky of SM Chabad invited mall-shoppers to stop by and get a taste of
Chanukah. “This is the way they made olive oil back in the days when the
Chanukah miracle happened,” he said. Those who gathered around were able to see
exactly how it was pressed, first into olive juice and then the oil extracted
from that, and for those that stayed around a little longer, the oil produced
was lit in a Menorah.
