Of Vessels & Blessing
Rosh Chodesh, the head of the month is a woman's holiday. In the desert, when the Jewish men sinned with the golden calf, it was the women, who refused to participate.
Hashem rewarded the women, by giving them the holiday of Rosh Chodesh.. At Chabad, women get together once a month as the moon is just a tiny sliver, to grow, celebrate, and create.

For the month of Shevat, a crowd of women gathered at Chabad House. A table of refreshments was set. After a bit of socializing and noshing, Mrs. Sara Levin spoke on 'How to Fill your Vessels with Blessing.” She explained how prayer is the key to receiving blessing. To create blessing, one must be a vessel, one way is by bringing more good into the world.

After her enlightening speech, Barbara Drucker a professor of art at UCLA, led a workshop on clay sculpting. Inspired by Mrs. Levin's words, the women created magnificent pieces. 

A week later everyone returned to paint their creations. Mrs. Reitza Kosofsky talked about the 10th of Shevat. The color of the paint brought life into the sculptures.
